The Top 10 monks of Thailand had many versions & many assumptions being discussed in many amulet's forums which none of its version was confirmed & recognized in Thailand. The one & only version that was fully recognized by old veterans collectors in Thailand, was the one i had published. It was not fully recorded but "The ceremony of Magic & Mental Power competition held in Year 2452 " had been spreading down to this generation from the old veterans collector.
It was happened in the Year 2452 in Nakorn Pathom Province. At that time the supreme Patriarch Somdej Phra Sangkaraj (Kay) of Wat Bowonniwet(Chief monks of Thailand)issued a invitation to all temples in all provinces to send representative monk with high Wittayaakom(magic) & Palangjit(mental power) to participate of exchanges of knowledges in Wittayaakom(magic) & Palangjit(mental power),at the same time there will be a test of the power between the monks. The response were overwhelmed as hundreds of monks from different provinces attended the ceremony which held beside at Wat Phra Phathom Chedi for a period of 3 days & 3 nights.
There was a most important & toughest event which monks had to use their mental power to move a carpenter's plane from a starting point till a designated point & at the same time the monk had to use his mental power to move back the carpenter's plane from the designated point to the starting point. On this test ,many monks were able to use their mental power to move the carpenter's plane from starting point to designated point BUT most of the monks failed to move it back from the designated point to starting point. Except only 10 highly skilled monks passed the test. The 10 highly skilled monks as follows:
Lp Klan of Wat Phayatigaram Ayuttaya (Overall Champion)
LP Boon of Wat Klang Bang Kaew Nakorn Pathom (Overall 2nd)

Luang Phoo Tim Wat Lahanrai

Picture
Luang Phor Tim was born in Ban Hua Tunnttabuon, Tambon Laharn, Ampher Bannkaii, Jungwat Rayong on the 16th June BE 2422 in the year of the Rabbit.

He was named Tim, and his family name was Ngamsii. At the age of 17 his father, Kheh, sent to Tan Phor Singh to study, returning home at the age of 19 and was ordained as a monk at Wat Thatkaow on the 7th June BE 2499.

He was ordained by Phrakru Kaow, Archan Singh and Archan Kehh and was given the religious name of Issaliko. After spending a year in Wat Thatkaow, he retreated in the forest for a period of three years, after which he went to Wat Narmathom in Chengwat Chonburi for two years.

Luang Phor Tim learned Wijja (magic) with Ajahan Lod, Ajahn Lem and Ajahn Saii. He also studied with his Uncle Luang Phor Song Thao of Wat Kongchin. It was from this uncle that Luang phor Tim inherited a book of Wicha and Arkom. Luang Phor Tim became the Abbot of Wat Lahanrai where he was a strict and diligent practioner of the Dhamma.

He was known to be a very good monk and possessed few worldly materials. In the hut where he stayed, he only had a pillow and a mat with no electricity. He lived a simple life. He passed away on the 18th October BE 2518 having spent 72 years in the Sangha.

Phra Khun Paen Guman Plaai is one of the most famous amulets created by Luang Phor Tim of Wat Lahanrai. His amulets are very popular and expensive, but for good reason.

A popular account has been well publicized around the internet. This is an updated and somewhat more accurate version.

Phra Khun Paen Pong Plaai Guman of Luang Phor Tim Isarigo, a senior monk of Wat Lahanrai, Rayong province, is respected as one of the most sacred amulets consecrated in modern times.

A genuine Phra Khun Paen Guman Plaai amulet is probably the hardest to find, and fakes abound everywhere. This amulet is well proven in Metta Mahaniyom, Metta, Mahahsaneh, business success and almost all that you wish to do.

The actual methods used to create this amulet follow the ancient traditional ways. Only a few guru monks are known this century to be able to create such an amulet, namely Luang Phor Tim himself, and Luang Phor Tae of Wat Sahm Ngam.

The most popular series of the Phra Khun Paen Pong Plaai Guman amulets are known as the first series (often called “the first block”) containing both Pim Yai and Pim Lek, some with sacred takruts and others without.

It is generally believed that Luang Phor Tim had asked a disciple to make the amulets for him and on a daily basis he would bring newly made amulets to the temple and then Luang Phor Tim would gradually recite the sacred spell for each and every amulet.

Indeed it was recorded that 30-40 of the Pim Yai amulets and around 100-200 of the Pim Lek amulets were brought to him daily.

The disciple responsible for making the amulets was known to have stated that only a single mould was created for both the Pim Lek and The Pim Yai amulets. Luang Phor Tim did not make further moulds and as such it’s highly likely that only a single series of these amulets were ever created.

Many dealers may claim to possess amulets that have originated from different series, but be warned you are most likely being deceived.

One of the reasons that such a low quantity of these amulets were produced was no doubt due to the difficulty and danger associated in production. As stated previously it was well known amongst experts of the black magic sciences that only a few monks possessed the arcane knowledge required to produce such an amulet.

If lesser persons attempted such a process it is highly likely that they would themselves become possessed with demonic spirits or harmed in some way. Luang Phor Tae of Wat Sam Nagm was the only other living monk who possessed the knowledge.

Mr. Lap Choicharoen, a close disciple of Luang Phor Tim had said that he was instructed to locate the corpse of a pregnant woman who had passed the cremation ceremony on a Tuesday.

Furthermore he was to bring the burnt head bone of the dead foetus to Luang Phor Tim. This was required in order to create the sacred powders used in the preparation of the Phra Khun Paen Pong Plaai Guman amulets.

Luang Phor Tim chanted a special black magic spell or Katha for one week in order to control the soul and also prevent the spirit departing from the Plaai Guman.

Once completed, his disciple was instructed to pound and grind the material into very fine powder, which he commenced to do. It was not long however that he became somewhat disturbed by sparks emanating from the mortar. He had to burn incense and ask for forgiveness before this phenomena abated.

Luang Phor Tim took the Plaai Guman powder and mixed it with a number of other sacred powders including, Itijeaepattamung powder, Jindahmanee powder, Prawai and 108 different herbs and sedges. The mixture was chanted for days on end before being pressed into the moulds.

The Pim Yai amulet is 3.5 cm in length and 2cm in width. The amulet face features Buddha sitting in Samadhi, to his left and right are two Nang Kwak in prayer.

On the reverse is the famous Luang Phor Tim Yant Har, representing five previous Buddha’s. Certain Pim Yai, mostly the Neua Khao versions, have a pair of takruts inserted and a layer of gold paint applied.

A total of 2,000 pieces were created and chanted, some with and some without the takruts.

Once his disciple questioned Luang Phor Tim on the reason why he chose to use the skull of a dead child in the process. He was answered

"When we plant a tree, we want to eat the fruits quickly. This is similar to wearing an amulet. We want the amulet to provide merit and protection. The Phra Khun Paen Guman Plaai amulet will provide merit from Lord Buddha and the power and protection will come from the Guman Plaai"

The Pim Lek is slightly smaller in dimension being 2cm in height and 1cm in width. The amulet face features Buddha sitting in the full lotus position, below which is a sleeping Guman Thong. To the left and right are two Nang Kwak, believed to impart Metta Mahahsene (loving kindness). The reverse of the amulet once again features the 5 Yant inscription.

A total of 5,000 pieces were created with 20 pieces made with Wahn Mahahseneh and Dtoktorng powders. These powders are considered special and generally difficult to find. Clearly these versions of the amulet, being the rarest, are by far the most expensive (generally yellow in colour).

The colour of the amulets varies depending on the final mixes of the scared powders used, and the varying degrees of pressure used in the moulding process.

Particular amulets when viewed under magnification even show signs of their origin, often containing fingernails and hair.

The Plaai Guman was also added to other batches of amulets, namely; Phra Nangphya, Phra Plaai Buar, Phra Pitda, Phra Kring Chinabahnchorn and Phra Somdej. In the case of the Phra Kring amulet the material was added to the base

Luang Phor Phrom Wat Chong Kae

Picture
Luang Phor Phrom Wat Chong Kae   At the age of 21, Luangpor Phrom ordained as a monk in Wat (temple) Keanlai on 15 march B.E. 2447 and was given the Buddhist nick “Tawalo”. Luangpor Tomya was his preceptor. He then learned Kom as well as meditation from Luangpor Tomya and excelled in both. Luangpor Phrom had also learned from Acharn (teacher) Puang Witcha Akom (the skill of magical chant) before he became a monk. Luangpor Phrom was brought by Acharn Puang to learn Dharma and meditation from Luangpor Dam for 4 years. He then went to practice Withcha Akom under the guidance of Acharn Puwon for 5 years. After Acharn Puwon passed away, Luangpor Phrom stopped learning from any other teacher and went Tudong (forest dwelling) alone. All the teachers of Luangpor Phrom were the best during that time. Acharn Puang was the disciple of Luangpor Mah Wat Bungmuang, who was also the teacher of PhraChao Taksin Maharaj (Thai King) and Phra Baht Somdej Phra Puttayodfah Chulalod (King Rama I). As for Acharn Puwon, he was the disciple of Luangpor Nin Wat Kow Pasak of Petchabun province and Luangpor Seang Wat Molee Chonkhan of Lop Buri province.
Luangpor Seang was the teacher of Phra Somdej Puttakjan Toh Wat Rakangkositaram. Luangpor Phrom met many masters during his tudong days where as Luangpor exchanges magical skills with them. One of them was Luangpor Derm Wat Nongpo, the famous guru of Nakorn Sawan province whom he later went Tudong with. Luangpor Phrom went Tudong as far as Rangoon, Myanmar and had visited and paid homage to the great pagoda Shwedagon which houses the relics of the three previous Buddhas.

Luangpor Phrom then came back to Thailand passing through Dan Chedi Sam Ong (Three Pagodas Pass) at Kanchanaburi province, experiencing many large and small mountains, thick forests and risking many dangers like wild animals and poisonous snakes. Although Luangpor Phrom was able to overcome all these by using his magical powers, he chooses to avoid them when confronted, as not to cause any injuries to them.

When Luangpor Phrom finally went back to Thailand from his Tudong, he came upon Mount Chongkae at Amper Takri, Nakon Sawan province and encountered a storm. As Luangpor Phrom was unable to proceed further due to the storm, he took shelter and spent the night in a cave of Mt Chongkae. Luangpor Phrom started to look around and found that he can enjoy absolute solitude in the relatively small cave. He decided to stay in the cave for the Pansah (three month of Buddhist lent). At the beginning, the temple at the foot of Mt Chongkae or Wat Chongkae had only two monks staying there with no abbot. Surroundings of the temple were also unkempt. Upon hearing that Luangpor Phrom was staying in the cave, the district-councillor together with a few others went to invite Luangpo Phrom to reside at Wat Chongkae.
Luangpor Phrom then became the 1st abbot of Wat Chongkae.

The owner of the land whereby Wat Chongkae was situated decided to donate the land to the temple. Luangpor Phrom then got things organized and started to build several projects for the temple.By B.E. 2460, monk quarters, kitchen, and a Dharma hall had been built. Several villagers had also formed temple-committee. Together, they held plan to build a Bot (ordination Hall). Considering the large amount of money needed for the project, the committee decided to make amulets for fund-raising.

Luangpor Phrom was a very generous monk who like would give away anything he could to those in need. As in the case of Chek Tann (giving alms) batch of amulets made in the year of B.E. 2515, Luangpor distributed out all the amulets to the people who went for the ceremony till not a single coin left. Most batches of amulets made or blessed by Luangpor Phrom, had got the shape of a bell because of the way he sit in meditation resemble a bell (strong & Stamford) and also Luangpor fondness for big bells ever since he seen some during his tudong days in Myanmar. It is said that Luangpor Phrom was a monk who does not like to speak much. Instead, he preferred to listen to others talk. He is said to have the ability of knowing the future. There were several incidents whereby Luangpor’s speech came true (golden mouth).
1) Nang khiew Phan, a close follower of Luangpor Phrom, who operated a food-stall in chongkae railway station. Once had Luangpor telling her that she would be a millionaire soon for the goodness she had cultivated for helping the temple. Sure, not long after, she became rich from her food business.
2) There was once a committee member of Wat Chongkae who often misuse temple’s fund for his own expenses. When news got to the ears of Luangpor, he said that whoever dared to misuse temple’s fund, the person will have his stomach spilt open. Those who heard what Luangpor said, had got no idea what he was talking about initially but soon, news of the said committee member suffering from incurable stomach illness and he died of it not long after had the people finally realizes what Luangpor had meant.

3) During one of the temple’s celebrations in B.E. 2515, besides amulets, towels with the temple’s stamps were also distributed to those who helped in the celebration. Those towels, which were blessed by Luangpor Phrom were deemed limited and all had been distributed out during the celebration. As such, many of those who have not got it went to the temple to ask for them. That was when a monk from Wat Chongkae bought some from the market and started to distribute them outside the temple without the knowledge and blessing of Luangpor Phrom. When Luangpor heard about this, he said, “The crazy monk shall become mad if he continued doing that”. Not long after, the said monk became insane and started wandering all around the place aimlessly and had since gone missing.Phra Saman Kitiwutato, a monk in Wat Chongkae. He had ever witness Luangpor Phrom walking across the surface of a pond situated not far away from the temple in year B.E. 2496 when Phra Saman was a kid, at that time he was playing near the vicinity of the pond together with a few of his friends whom, later became close devotees of Wat Chongkae.

Besides making numerous batches of amulets which were proven for its effectiveness on protecting the wearer, Luangpor Phrom was also very skillful in making herbs. The herbs were extremely effective and had cured many people with various illnesses. The herbs were made annually during his birthday celebration. The traditions of making the herbs or “Dtom Yah” celebration were still being held every year till today.Luangpor Phrom lived in Wat Chongkae for a total of 58 years (B.E. 2460-2518). He passed away on 30th Jan B.E. 2518 @ 1500 hrs at the Bungmi Hospital in LopBuri Province at age 91 years, 71 years of monk hood.

The body of Luangpor Phrom was still in the original condition as when he died. It was housed in a glass coffin at the top of the Dharma Hall of Wat Chongkae for worshipping. No sign of decay or insects infesting were found on his body. In fact, Hairs and nails on his body were still growing. This, many people had said that Luangpor Phrom had attained Aranhantship

(enlightenment). Those who would like to pay respect to Luangpor Phrom in Wat Chongkae can bring alone face masks or figurines of Thai traditional dance for worshipping of Luangpor Phrom as Luangpor was very fond of these when he was alive. Many people had their wishes fulfilled and brought these items to worship Luangpor Phrom as a gesture of thanks-giving.Date of ceremonies held at Wat Chongkae annually:-1) 29-30th Jan - The Death Anniversary.2) 5-6-7th, 5th month of Thai Lunar Calendar – Birthday & Herbs-making Celebration.
3) 12-13-14th April- Songkan festival (bathing of Luangpor Phrom’s statue).

Luang Pu Toh

Wat Pradoochimplee

( 27th March B.E 2430 - 5th March B.E 2524 )

Picture

Luang Phor Toh, or official name of Chao Khun Prarachsangwara Bhimonda, was a local of Bangkontee district, Samutsongkram province.
He was born on March 27 B.E.2430 to the family of Mr.Loy and Mrs.Tub Ruttanakon, who had another child named Mr.Chuey , the younger brother of LP Toh.

By the time he was 13, both parents had passed away, and Luang Phor Kaew, a relative, moved him away to stay at Wat Pradoochimplee, where he was educated by Luang Poo Suek, the then abbot of the temple.

At the age 17, he was ordained as a novice, but unfortunately a day after, LP Suek passed away.

As a result Mr.Klai and Mrs.Pun, LP Suek's relatives, decided they would do all they could to support LP Toh until he was 20, at which time he was ordained as a monk by LP Saeng (Phra Kru Sammana Tamsamahtahn) of Wat Paknam, at 3.30 PM., on July 16, B.E.2540. Also present as a preceptor was Phra Kru TammawiRat (Chei) Wat GumPaeng.

At the time he was renamed as "Intasuwanno". after LP Suek, by the son of Mr Klai, LP Kum the Abbot of Wat Praduchimplee

LP Toh was a dedicated and merciful monk, highly respected by the locals, but he wanted to learn more about Lord Buddha's Dharma and magic sciences. Because of his desire and quest for knowledge he actually moved away to Wat Bhoti in Bangkok. It was not long however that the locals pleaded for his return.

When LP Toh had reached the age of 26, LP Kum resigned from his position at the temple, and LP Toh succeeded him. In fact he remained Abbot until his death at the age of 68 on March 5, B.E.2524.

Luang Phor Toh himself was succeeded by LP Virojana-kittikun, who remains the current Abbot at the age of 94

LP Toh was so interested in magic sciences that even before he was ordained as a monk he bwas learning from Luang Phor Phromma who was then the Abbot of Wat Pradoochimplee

After LP Phromma had passed away, LP Toh studied under many senior monks such as LP Roong of Wat Takrabue, Samutsakorn province, LP Nium of Wat Noi, Supanburi province, LP Pum Wat Bangklo, Bangkok.

Moreover, Luang Por Pan of Wat Bangnomko, Ayudhaya province, had introduced LP Toh to Luang Phor Nong, from whom he learned a lot of magic sciences, so much so that LP |Toh regarded him as his principal.

When LP Toh began to join the Buddhist ceremonies he also attempted to seek further knowledge. A close follower of LP Toh revealed that every time he was invited to a ceremony he would touch the sacred thread, and incredibly would know the strength of the magic power, if the power was strong he would enquire as to who created the sacred thread in order to learn further.

Luang Phor Toh was involved in many mass chanting ceremonies such as Phra Somdej Luang Phor Pae Roon Rahk chanting at Wat Suthat in BE 2494, 25 Puttawat chanting in BE 2500, Phra Luang Phor Thuad chanting at Wat Prasat in BE 2506, Phra Somdej 09 chanting at Wat Bankhunprom in BE2509, Phra Somdej Roy Pee chanting at Wat Rakang in BE 2515

Even as Abbot of the temple, LP Toh would spend much time travelling to seek the knowledge that he desired.

Beside the lay people, the 9th or the present King of Thailand and the royal family respected Luang Phor Toh very much. One can see from many photographs of the royal family taken with Luang Phor Toh.

Any amulet created by Lp Toh is well know to gives its owner great luck and protection and there is a saying that whoever owns a Lp Toh amulet will be free from poverty.

However, when this batch of Phra Pidta was produced and distributed, the contribution funds from this batch alone raised more than one million baht. This was attributed to the beautiful features of the Phra Pidta and also the size which is preferred by all age and gender.
